Instagram is one of the fastest-growing social media channels in the world, and with more than 1 billion users it's imperative to make a good first impression. Use these simple tips to make your Club's Instagram Profile follow-worthy.

Create an Account

  1. Download the Instagram app on either the App Store or Google Play Store.

  2. Click Create New Account.

  3. Enter an email and create a secure password.

TIP: Use your work email when creating a Club account. Be sure to use a neutral password that can be shared with all team members who will be using the account.

  4. Fill out your profile information.

Complete your Profile

  1. Choose a simple Username that includes your Club's name. Be sure to put your full Club name in the Name section. Users should be able to type in your Club's name and find your profile.

TIP: If your Club's name is taken, try adding another descriptor.

Example: WillowFork was taken, but WillowForkClub is available.

2. Next, make your Club logo your Profile Photo.

3. Include your Website URL to drive traffic from your Instagram account to your site.

4. Write a simple, descriptive Bio for your page.

TIP: Bios are limited to 150 characters, meaning you want to highlight the most important and unique information to your property.

INSTAGRAM BIO EXAMPLES

Private Club Bio (with Hashtag)

Private Club Bio (with Emojis)

Public Course Bio (with Emojis)

5. Add your Public Business Information, starting with Category.

TIP: Private Clubs and Public Courses should both choose Golf Course/Country Club.

6. Fill out your Contact Options. The more information you provide, the more accessible your Club/Course will be to followers. Only include means of contact that are actively used/checked like email address, phone number, and your location.

7. Ensure your profile is Public by going to your Profile > Top Right Menu (three lines in the top right corner) > Settings > Privacy.

Now that your Instagram Profile is complete, you can begin to engage with your followers!
